Managing Seasonal Affective Disorder

The month of December brings with it awareness of Seasonal Affective Disorder. Did you know that more than 1 in 20 people are affected by this...affecting more men than women?


Three ways you can help manage SAD:


  • Try to keep your work space clear, clean and clutter-free (sounds a little idealistic I know)

    A tidy space = focused mind!


  • Make the most of daylight, however grey it may seem. Plan in ten minutes at lunchtime to walk round the block. 

    Feeling more alert on returning to your desk = focused mind!


  • Whenever you have to wait at work - photocopier to print/phone to ring/meeting to start - bring awareness down onto three steady, quiet breaths.

    Allowing ourselves to pause and breathe = focused mind!
